Country Cottage - Gites and bed and Breakfast

Mirathon is a 17th Century stone 'Mas' set in the beautiful Aquitaine region. Nestling between an undulating countryside of meadows, orchards and vineyards it is bordered by the Perigord to the north and the gastronomically famous Gascogne to the south. The University City of Bordeaux is west of Baleyssagues, ' entre deux mers' between the rivers Dordogne and the Garonne. The medieval market town , Duras , with all the essential amenities, ( including Doctors, shops, and restaurants etc ) is just 4 kms away.

Local activities include a beautiful swimming lake, fishing, canoeing, horse riding, golf, cycling ( with bikes available from your hosts ) and of course the opportunity to spend many happy hours sampling the wines produced by the famous vineyards in the areas of Bergerac, Bordeaux, Monbazillac and St Emilion.

Mirathon has been tastefully renovated and restored into 3 individually designed Gites, each decorated and furnished to a very high standard retaining many of its original stone walls and exposed beams. These beautiful Gites offer relaxed and comfortable accommodation with added benefits of fitted kitchens, modern bathrooms, satellite TV and central heating for those cooler months. Each Gite also has its own balcony or terrace complete with garden furniture, B.B.Q. and outside lighting. There is also a shared utility room for all your laundry requirements.

The gardens are mainly laid to lawn with flower borders and trugs with some oak and fruit trees providing welcoming shade. There is also a Roman style pool ( 11x5mtr) which has a pretty , enclosed sun terrace, internally lit for evening swims. Table tennis, a play area, paddling pool and sand pit are just some of the added extras to keep you entertained and for our ' petite ' holidaymakers; highchairs, cots and baby gates are available. A welcome package, linen and towels ( not for pool use ) are provided.

We also offer high quality meals and picnics using fresh, local ingredients, which can be requested from our dual nationality hosts Patrick and Josephine Coevoet who live on site and who have been awarded many times for their food excellence in the UK.
