BRIEF DETAILS OF THIS B&B

John and Lorna Gough welcome you to their home near Gourdon between the Dordogne and the Lot rivers. This is a beautiful region full of scenic interest and historical medieval towns such as Rocamadour, Gourdon and Souillac.

We offer quality Bed & Breakfast with genial hospitality and swimming facilities — parents must be responsible for their children. Relax in our large secluded garden and enjoy the pleasant sunshine.

We have four double bedrooms, and by 2004 we shall have two gites. We enjoy quality living so consequently this is what we offer you. The local inhabitants of our village are very welcoming and although we have simply a General Store, Post Office, Church, Mairie, and Chateau, Le Vigan our neighbouring village 3 km away offers fishing, tennis facilities, and many local artisan workshops.

We have many local facilities for walking, riding, cycling, canoeing, fishing, also theme parks, museums and art galleries.

Anyone who is interested in painting may borrow brushes, paints etc., as Lorna is an avid painter and loves to share painting experiences! You name it — we’ve got it!

Where else would you look?

OUT & ABOUT: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TOWNS AND VILLAGES IN FRANCE…
CAHORS :

The Pont Valentré (right) spanning the Lot River with its 3 defence towers is a famous landmark of the town. There are some chic shops and the marché on Wednesdays and Saturdays is a must. Cahors is approximately 25 mins on the autoroute south of Saint-Projet.

GOURDON on our doorstep is only 8 km from Saint-Projet. The old medieval town is worth a visit and the panoramic viewpoint is wonderful.

SOUILLAC — at the confluence of the Dordogne and the Borrèze rivers is a mere 20 minutes north of Saint-Projet.

ROCAMADOUR — 15 minutes northeast of Saint-Projet — has stunning scenery and beautiful stone and brick rooftops. It is a true example of Quercy building and architecture set in the mass of immense rock and dominated by its castle. See also the Bishops’ Palace (right).

How about Rocamadour cheese? Try it and see for yourself. There are plenty of appetising restaurants in all these small towns and the gastronomy of this region is so well known — truffles, foie gras, cheeses, walnuts, peaches … and the wine … !!!
